Welcome to the site of ZL2ET.

My name is James Smith and my QTH is Auckland, the capital city of New Zealand.
James ZL2ET
I became a Ham operator in South Africa with the call sign ZR5JRS. Around 2000, I left South Africa to work in Europe and Asia and was not active in the ensuing years.

In 2012 I moved to New Zealand, transferred my licence and became active again as ZL2ET. I later received a second callsign, ZL2JRS for mostly CW work.

I have a wide range of interests in amateur radio: HF DX, Satellite, EME (moonbounce), any ‘scatter’ or ‘ducting’ propagation in the VHF bands.

My current setup:

Digital Controllers: SignaLink USB, Kantronics KAM plus multimode TNC

This site has been developed in order to share my experiences and interests with others interested in the hobby. As I learn new things, I will post them up here. Hopefully this will help other people!

Please feel free to contact me regarding any aspect of amateur radio. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
